General Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated General Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded engineering background, ready to tackle various projects. With strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you will contribute to exciting design and implementation tasks, enhancing our engineering capabilities and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering solutions across various projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes and deliverables.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure project success.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project specifications.
• Oversee and coordinate project activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers and interns.
• Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor project progress.
• Ensure that engineering practices comply with environmental regulations.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and technologies to implement best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in engineering with project lead experience

• AutoCAD
• FEA Software

• Team Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
