Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Public Health Specialist to join our enthusiastic team in Durban. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing public health initiatives aimed at improving community health. This position requires a passion for health promotion, expertise in disease prevention, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. You will lead assessments, create health education programs, and develop policies to enhance health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate community health data to identify health disparities and prioritize those needs.
• Establish partnerships with local government, NGOs, and other organizations to support health initiatives.
• Create comprehensive reports presenting findings from health studies and program evaluations.
• Lead community outreach programs to raise awareness of preventive health measures.
• Monitor public health risks and develop action plans to address emerging health issues.
• Guide healthcare professionals and students through public health practices.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with public health trends.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Health Administration
• Master's degree in Public Health or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in program management within public health
