Job Description

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to make a meaningful impact in the lives of animals in Cape Town. The successful candidate will perform surgeries, diagnose medical conditions, and work closely with a supportive team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose diseases and prescribe appropriate treatment.
• Conduct routine exams and health assessments.
• Involve in emergency and critical care situations.
• Provide compassionate end-of-life care and support.
• Foster client relationships through exceptional service.
• Ensure proper inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Specialization in Veterinary Surgery is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a veterinary setting

Technical Skills

• Anaesthesia Management
• Emergency Care Procedures

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• SAVC Registration
• Advanced Surgical Techniques Certification (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

• Advanced understanding of animal behavior: Knowledge of animal behaviour in both clinical and surgical settings.
• Familiarity with current veterinary practices: Awareness of the latest trends and practices in veterinary medicine.
