Job Description

At Exciting Tours Co., we are looking for a friendly and knowledgeable Tour Guide. You’ll be responsible for leading groups through the stunning landscapes and cultural sites of Port Elizabeth, providing insights into local history and customs, while ensuring a fun and informative experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tours for individuals and groups, sharing interesting insights about local sights.
• Ensure all participants are well-informed about safety protocols and local etiquette.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and attractions.
• Assist in marketing efforts by promoting upcoming tours and special events.
• Keep up to date with changes in tourism trends and local attractions.
• Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall guest experience.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant tourism qualifications are a plus

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in tourism or hospitality

Technical Skills

• First Aid Certification
• Knowledge of local history and culture

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Interpersonal Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with guided tours in nature reserves: Experience leading tours in local nature reserves and wildlife areas.
• Bilingual capabilities: Ability to converse in multiple languages is an asset.
