Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our Port Elizabeth team. In this role, you will work one-on-one with clients to provide therapeutic support and guidance while developing tailored treatment plans. Your expertise in mental health practices will be crucial in helping individuals manage their mental wellness effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support using evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and review client assessments to track improvements and setbacks.
• Encourage clients' participation in their own healing process.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary treatment plans with doctors and social workers.
• Maintain a supportive and safe therapeutic environment for all clients.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Counseling or Psychology
• Licensure as a Professional Counselor is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of clinical experience in a mental health setting

• Motivational Interviewing
• Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Soft Skills

• Active Listening
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• History of working with adolescents and families: Experience in counseling families and teenagers in a therapeutic setting.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders: Familiarity with various mental health diagnoses and treatment modalities.
