Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon in our Pretoria clinic, you will work closely with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality veterinary services. We are seeking someone with a commitment to animal welfare and a passion for providing the best possible care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat various medical conditions in companion animals.
• Oversee the care and recovery of surgical patients.
• Educate pet owners on preventive care and wellness.
• Work with the team to improve clinic processes and procedures.
• Participate in community outreach and education events.
• Conduct routine check-ups and health assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
• Additional certification in a specialized field is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice

• Surgical Skills
• Diagnostic Imaging

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
• Additional certifications like ECC (Emergency and Critical Care) preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with exotic animals: Knowledge of and experience with treating exotic species.
• Familiarity with animal rehabilitation techniques: Experience in rehabilitating injured or sick animals.
