Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications and determine coverage amounts and rates based on the risk assessment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expert knowledge in underwriting procedures and communicate effectively with agents and customers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate properties for underwriting guidelines.
• Calculate premium rates using statistical analysis and underwriting criteria.
• Advise on policy adjustments as needed based on market changes.
• Provide continuous support to the sales team regarding underwriting policies.
• Implement strategies to reduce financial risk and ensure profitability.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Insurance, or related field

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field
