Freight Coordinator

Job Description

We're looking for a Freight Coordinator in East London. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating shipments, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of freight operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the negotiation of shipping rates with carriers.
• Ensure all shipments are properly packed and labeled.
• Monitor carrier performance and report issues as needed.
• Evaluate and select transportation companies based on service needs.
• Assist in developing and implementing logistics strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Certification in Supply Chain Management is preferable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the freight and shipping industry

Technical Skills

• Customs Regulations Knowledge
• Data Analysis Tools

Soft Skills

• Negotiation

Certifications

• International Freight Forwarding Certificate
• ISO 9001 Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
