Job Description

We are in search of a diligent Food Safety Inspector to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating food products and processes to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This role is crucial in maintaining food integrity and public health.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of food facilities and products.
  • Assess compliance with applicable laws and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
  • Advise food businesses on corrective actions to address non-compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in food safety issues.
  • Engage in continuous learning about new food safety regulations.
  • Participate in food safety audits and reviews.
  • Coordinate with other departments for cross-functional compliance efforts.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, or related field
  • Additional certifications in quality assurance are preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in food safety auditing or inspection
