Loan Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Loan Officer responsible for assessing and approving loan applications. In this role, you will guide clients through the loan process and offer robust financial advice to ensure their needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness.
• Develop financial solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
• Manage customer relationships and ensure excellent service delivery.
• Assist clients through the loan approval process and provide feedback.
• Ensure documentation adheres to compliance standards and internal policies.
• Educate clients on loan terms, conditions, and payment schedules.
• Monitor existing clients and offer refinancing options when advantageous.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance loan processing efficiency.
• Handle client inquiries and resolve any conflicts professionally.
• Generate reports on loan performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Master's degree in Finance or related areas is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in consumer lending or loan origination

Certifications

• National Certificate in Banking
• Professional Certificate in Banking and Finance

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages, particularly Afrikaans or Zulu.
• Sales Experience: Prior experience in sales or cross-selling banking products.
