Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our growing team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will design and optimize mechanical components and systems, ensuring they adhere to applicable codes and regulations. You will analyze results, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders, playing a critical role in the success of various engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of innovative mechanical systems.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials for projects.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures for mechanical systems.
• Work closely with clients to gather project requirements and feedback.
• Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures.
• Supervise the work of technicians and junior engineers.
• Utilize CAD software to create design models.
• Introduce process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss design changes and updates.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• SolidWorks
• ANSYS
• MATLAB

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate
