Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing risks and determining appropriate coverage levels for clients' insurance needs. This role requires a careful analysis of applications, along with a solid grasp of market trends and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess insurance applications in a timely manner.
• Utilize underwriting software to streamline the application review process.
• Work closely with brokers and agents to clarify client needs and concerns.
• Ensure adherence to company standards and risk management practices.
• Prepare reports on underwriting activities and trends.
• Conduct periodic audits of underwriting files to verify compliance with procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Insurance

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred

• Data Analysis
• Policy Writing

• Negotiation
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Risk management experience: Experience in risk management is a plus for this role.
