Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with forklifts and heavy machinery repair. Duties include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on various forklift models and heavy machinery.
• Implement regular maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Provide on-site support for equipment breakdowns.
• Liaise with suppliers for parts ordering.
• Participate in team meetings to improve service delivery.
• Adhere strictly to company policies regarding health and safety.
• Document all service work accurately in the job management system.
• Assist in equipment upgrades and refurbishments.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Trade certificate in Forklift Mechanics

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in forklift repair and maintenance

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience with electric and propane forklifts: Hands-on experience with different fuel types.
