Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated First-Line Supervisor to manage a team of correctional officers during shifts. You will ensure safety, compliance, and the effective execution of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage and motivate a team of correctional officers during shifts.
• Oversee safety compliance and respond to any disturbances.
• Compile daily reports on staff activities and incidents.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure all operational procedures are followed accurately.
• Liaise with administration regarding staffing and inmate issues.
• Lead training sessions for staff on safety and emergency protocols.
• Handle conflicts among inmates and staff efficiently.
• Support the rehabilitation efforts of inmates through oversight.
• Assist in the development of shift schedules based on needs.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate
• Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years in a supervisory role within a correctional facility
