Furnace Converter

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Furnace Converter to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will operate and maintain furnaces and converters, monitor and control metal production processes, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
• Maintain equipment and initiate repairs as necessary.
• Monitor the quality of the metal produced to meet company standards.
• Assist in developing and implementing process improvements.
• Participate in health and safety meetings and training.
• Provide feedback for system upgrades and process changes.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical diploma in Metallurgy or Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles

Technical Skills

• Furnace monitoring
• Temperature control systems

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Analytical thinking

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience in machinery maintenance: Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of production machinery.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations: Understanding of environmental compliance in manufacturing settings.
