Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our Bloemfontein team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing construction projects to ensure the structural integrity and safety of buildings. You will collaborate closely with architects and other engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Architectural design input for structural safety assessments.
• Perform structural inspections and assessments post-construction.
• Facilitate effective communication between clients and engineering teams.
• Prepare design calculations and specifications for tender submissions.
• Engage with local authorities to secure necessary permits.
• Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Conduct training workshops on structural design for the team.
• Assess existing structures and propose renovations or reinforcements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in relevant projects

Technical Skills

• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Steel Structures

Soft Skills

• Organizational Skills
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Previous experience in site supervision: Hands-on experience overseeing construction projects on-site.
