Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Animal Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will work closely with veterinarians to develop and implement rehabilitation programmes for injured or recovering animals. Your expertise will be crucial in restoring mobility and improving the overall well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate rehabilitation treatments based on individual animal needs.
  • Assist veterinarians in surgical preparations and post-operative care.
  • Educate pet owners on effective rehabilitation techniques and at-home exercises.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the rehabilitation area.
  • Collaborate with specialists in rehabilitation to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Manage appointments and schedules for rehabilitation sessions.
  • Conduct research on animal rehabilitation advancements to improve practices.
  • Prepare reports on animal progress for veterinary staff consultations.
  • Participate in case discussions regarding complex rehabilitation cases.
  • Promote client engagement and satisfaction through effective communication.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science is an advantage
Experience
  • Experience with physical rehabilitation methods for animals preferred
