Responsibilities

• Design innovative structures that meet client specifications.
• Conduct structural assessments and evaluations for existing buildings.
• Oversee the drafting of plans and supporting documentation.
• Ensure that engineering solutions are sustainable and cost-effective.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Work closely with construction managers to facilitate project completion.
• Review and approve work done by subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits for inspections and quality assurance.
• Prepare and present project updates to management.
• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• Strength of Materials
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Conversational
