Actuary

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented actuary to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will analyze financial risks using mathematical and statistical methods. The role involves creating models to predict future events, ensuring businesses make informed decisions based on solid data analyses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve existing actuarial models for better performance.
• Work closely with the IT department to enhance data management systems.
• Prepare and analyze actuarial valuations and reports.
• Present findings to clients and internal teams to facilitate data-driven decisions.
• Assist in the development of risk management policies and procedures.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss actuarial services and solutions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is preferable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial science or related fields

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel
• Programming Languages (R, Python)

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
• Certified Risk Manager (CRM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
