Job Description

As a Street Light Servicer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing street lighting systems to ensure safety and proper illumination in public spaces. Your technical skills will be essential for troubleshooting and fixing any issues, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections to identify defective street lights and other lighting-related issues.
• Install and maintain street lighting equipment, including lamps, bulbs, and power supply units.
• Document all maintenance activities, including work orders and materials used.
• Collaborate with the team to coordinate scheduled maintenance and respond to emergency repair requests.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing public inquiries regarding street lighting.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in street lighting through continuous training.
• Assist in strategizing and planning future street lighting projects.
• Participate in community safety workshops relating to street lighting improvements.

Advantageous

• Prior experience in street lighting maintenance: Experience working with street lamps and public lighting infrastructure.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes: Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in South Africa.
