As an Insurance Underwriter based in Port Elizabeth, you will evaluate applications for insurance coverage, perform risk assessments, and make decisions regarding policy approval and pricing to protect both the company and our clients.
Responsibilities
Review and approve or deny insurance applications based on risk analysis.
Facilitate communication between clients and brokers.
Monitor insurance claims to assess risk exposure.
Develop and implement underwriting strategies.
Collaborate with the sales team to streamline the underwriting process.
Enhance underwriting practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Stay updated on changes in legislation affecting insurance practices.
Educate clients about the terms of coverage and policies.
Conduct underwriting audits to ensure accuracy in assessments.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or equivalent
Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
