Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to manage and optimize our logistics operations in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transport management, distribution networks, and supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation activities and manage the logistics team.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all transportation processes.
• Develop and implement policies that enhance transportation efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply chain activities.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and deliveries.
• Prepare reports on transportation costs and service levels for management review.
• Assist in training new logistics staff on transportation protocols.
• Identify risk factors and propose solutions to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with the finance team to manage transportation budgets.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Transportation Management

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in logistics or transportation roles

• Freight Management Software

Certifications

• Certified Logistics Associate (CLA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
