Job Description

As a Childcare Worker in Durban, you will play a crucial role in the development of young children. Your responsibilities will include planning educational activities, providing a safe and nurturing environment, and fostering social and emotional growth. You will frequently collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure a supportive home-to-school connection.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lesson plans focusing on various developmental areas: cognitive, emotional, social, and physical.
  • Lead activities that encourage language development through songs and storytelling.
  • Maintain records of children's development and any incidents.
  • Encourage children’s independence and self-care skills.
  • Engage children in activities that promote fine and gross motor skills.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance childcare skills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals when necessary to support children's health.
  • Represent the organization at community events promoting early childhood education.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Development or related field
Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role
