Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our passionate team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating veterinary cases and performing surgeries. You will be responsible for providing compassionate care and building strong relationships with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-operative and post-operative care of surgical patients.
• Educate pet owners on responsible pet ownership and health care.
• Collaborate with a team of veterinary technicians and support staff.
• Keep abreast of advancements in veterinary practices and procedures.
• Conduct dental procedures and assist in emergency situations.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Experience

• 4+ years in small animal practice preferred

Technical Skills

• Animal Rehabilitation
• Client Counseling

Certifications

• Veterinary Pain Management

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Specialized surgical training: Advanced skills in orthopedics or soft tissue surgery.
