Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will assess risks and determine appropriate coverage policies for our clients, ensuring a balance between profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks associated with insurance applications and make decisions on policy terms.
• Conduct thorough research on clients' backgrounds and insurance needs.
• Provide feedback to underwriting management on potential improvements to policies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Engage with clients to clarify and explain their coverage options.
• Prepare underwriting documents and records for internal and external audits.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in underwriting or insurance

Certifications

• Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
