Registered Midwife

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Midwife to join our expanding team in Cape Town. You will provide comprehensive maternity care to women before, during, and after childbirth, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment for mothers and their newborns.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a positive birthing experience for mothers.
• Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local maternity policies.
• Evaluate and recommend evidence-based practices.
• Conduct patient follow-ups as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with Midwifery qualification

Experience

• At least 5 years of midwifery experience in a hospital setting

Technical Skills

• Patient Monitoring
• Prenatal Education

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Empathy

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with Home Births: Experience in conducting home births is an asset.
• Community Health Experience: Experience in community health initiatives will be beneficial.
