Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer with us, you will leverage your engineering skills to develop and implement structural designs for a variety of buildings and infrastructures. You will collaborate closely with architects and construction teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, and your insights will greatly impact our approach to engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients to understand their needs and project goals.
• Lead structural design calculations and perform load assessments.
• Ensure structural integrity through rigorous testing and analysis.
• Regularly report on project progress to the Senior Management team.
• Assist in site feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Earthquake Engineering

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Collaboration

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficient in BIM technology: Experience using Building Information Modelling for project management.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations: Understanding of South African building regulations and compliance.
