Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our East London team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists with medication management, patient consultations, and inventory control. This role is pivotal in ensuring our patients receive their medications in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Keep track of controlled substances and manage inventory levels.
• Provide medication counseling and information to patients.
• Assist with the pharmacy’s IT systems for record-keeping.
• Participate in community health programs and outreach.
• Collaborate with team members to improve pharmacy services.
• Evaluate and improve pharmacy workflows.
• Prepare reports for the pharmacy manager regarding inventory and sales.

Requirements

Education

• Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Assistance or equivalent

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in retail pharmacy

Technical Skills

• Patient care management
• Pharmacy software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Customer service orientation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual – Afrikaans and English: Ability to communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English, enhancing patient interactions.
• Experience with chronic disease management: Knowledge and experience in supporting patients with chronic illnesses.
