Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Chemical Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization. You will play a significant role in improving the efficiency of our production processes and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement new technologies in chemical production.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to enhance production capabilities.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Assess and troubleshoot production issues, providing quick solutions.
• Mentor interns and junior engineers to foster skill development within the team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline
• Master's degree would be an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles

Technical Skills

• Chemical Process Simulation
• Experimental Design

• Leadership
• Critical Thinking

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with safety management systems: Experience with ISO and other safety management frameworks.
• Experience in petrochemical industry projects: Background in projects related to petrochemical production and processing.
