Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Police Sergeant to lead a team of constables in maintaining law and order in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to community engagement. Your role will involve supervising daily operations, conducting investigations, and working closely with community organizations to enhance public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of officers in daily patrols and community engagement.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents, documenting evidence thoroughly.
  • Assist in crisis situations and emergency response coordination.
  • Develop and implement strategies for preventing crime in the community.
  • Conduct training sessions for new recruits and ongoing development for current staff.
  • Review and manage case files, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Act as a liaison between the police department and community groups.
  • Monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Attend community meetings to address public safety concerns.
  • Assist with special operations as required.

Requirements

Education
  • National Diploma in Policing or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in policing.
