We are in search of a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our innovative team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of our systems, ensuring seamless operations at scale. Your expertise will help drive our infrastructure's evolution while working collaboratively with various teams to deliver top-notch solutions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Create documentation for systems and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Assist in capacity planning and infrastructure management.
• Collaborate on disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide support as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in site reliability or systems engineering

Technical Skills

• Linux Systems Administration
• Infrastructure as Code

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer
• Puppet Certified Practitioner

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with API management tools: Hands-on experience managing APIs with tools such as Apigee or AWS API Gateway.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies: Experience with service mesh architectures such as Istio.
