Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animals. You will perform surgeries, manage patient care, and educate pet owners on animal health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health checks and vaccinations for animals.
• Carry out surgical and medical procedures effectively.
• Work closely with pet owners to discuss medical options.
• Foster a caring and calm environment for animals.
• Participate in community outreach programs on animal health.

Requirements

Education

• Veterinary degree from an accredited institution
• SAVC registration is mandatory

Experience

• 2+ years in a veterinary practice, preferably in a surgical role

Technical Skills

• Emergency care skills
• Anesthesia management

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Effective problem-solving

Certifications

• Certificate in Animal Behavior

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Certifications in veterinary dentistry: Preferred experience in dental surgery for animals.
• Knowledge of animal nutrition: Understanding of nutritional requirements for various species.
