Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our expanding practice in Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare and possess strong clinical skills. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions in pets, performing surgeries, and developing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Administer vaccinations and preventive care.
• Assess and manage pain in patients effectively.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
• Document all procedures and patient interactions.
• Engage in training and development opportunities.
• Assist in the development of practice protocols.
• Enhance client engagement through effective communication.
• Promote a culture of compassion and patient-centered care.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications are preferable

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice with surgical focus

Certifications

• Veterinary Surgeon Registration with the South African Veterinary Council
• Certification in Animal Welfare is a plus
