Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Port Elizabeth team. In this role, you will assess risks and underwrite insurance policies, ensuring that client needs are met while maintaining company standards. Your ability to analyze data accurately and communicate effectively will be critical to your success.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze requests for insurance coverage and perform background checks.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and agents.
• Stay informed on legislative changes and ensure compliance.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and pricing models.
• Support the claims department with relevant underwriting information when needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
• Insurance designation (e.g., Associate in Risk Management or similar) is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in underwriting or a related field
