Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our educators in providing an enriching learning environment. You will play a crucial role in facilitating effective teaching methods and helping students achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student engagement and participation in class discussions.
• Support the integration of technology into the classroom.
• Help establish and implement classroom rules and routines.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist with extracurricular activities and student events.
• Foster relationships with students to support their socio-emotional well-being.

Requirements

Education

• NQF Level 5 Certificate in Education Support
• Higher Education qualification in Education preferred

Experience

• 1 year of experience in teaching or education support is preferred

• Lesson Planning

Certifications

• Basic Education and Training Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Proficiency in more than one language: Ability to communicate in multiple languages is a plus.
• Experience with assessment and evaluation methods: Familiarity with educational assessments and student evaluations.
