Job Description

As a Non-Destructive Testing Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and controlling corrosion on metal structures or equipment. This role requires a keen understanding of materials and corrosion mechanisms to effectively develop preventive measures.

Responsibilities

• Execute non-destructive testing procedures to assess metal structures.
• Stay updated on the latest industry practices and technologies in corrosion control.
• Deliver training sessions on corrosion prevention techniques for team members.
• Assist in the development of safety protocols related to corrosion control activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform maintenance as needed.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma or Degree in Materials Engineering or Corrosion Engineering
• Matric Certificate

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of materials and corrosion mechanisms
• Corrosion testing equipment

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• NACE certification in Corrosion and Coatings

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in the mining or oil and gas industry: Knowledge of corrosion control practices specific to these sectors.
• Experience with cathodic protection systems: Familiarity with protecting metal surfaces from corrosion.
