Cloud Engineer

Job Description

As a Cloud Engineer based in Cape Town, your main mission will be to build and deploy automated cloud solutions that drive our digital transformation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess cloud computing needs and implement innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create documentation to support cloud operations and infrastructure.
• Train and mentor junior engineers on cloud practices and technologies.
• Regularly update and maintain cloud architecture diagrams and system documentation.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Conduct performance tuning and scaling of cloud resources as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Master’s degree is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with cloud technologies

Technical Skills

• Azure
• CI/CD tools

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time management

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience with microservices architectures: Experience in developing and managing microservices on the cloud.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies: Understanding of tools like Istio for managing microservices.
