Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards. This role is vital in safeguarding the quality and integrity of our construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
• Draft clear and concise inspection reports, documenting findings and required actions.
• Provide expert advice to clients and contractors on compliance requirements.
• Evaluate construction materials and methods for compliance with regulations.
• Engage in public outreach to disseminate information about building regulations.
• Participate in training programs to stay informed on the latest building standards.
• Respond to inquiries from the public and industry stakeholders regarding inspection procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors during the construction process.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure compliance with previously identified issues.
• Document and maintain accurate records of inspection activities.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Construction Management
• Additional qualifications in building science are a plus

Experience

• 5 years of experience in a similar role with proven expertise in compliance inspections
