Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Public Health Specialist to support our mission of improving health practices in Cape Town’s communities. You will assess community health needs, develop intervention strategies, and contribute to public health research efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead public health campaigns and health promotion activities.
• Design interventions based on community health findings.
• Utilize community resources effectively to address health concerns.
• Maintain records and documentation of health program activities.
• Create and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of public health initiatives.
• Assist in the training of interns and new hires in public health.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or equivalent
• Master's degree in Epidemiology is a bonus

Experience

• 3+ years in public health roles with a focus on community health

Certifications

• Registered Environmental Health Practitioner
• First Aid Certification

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
