Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Clinical and Counseling Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual and group therapy. You will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their mental health journeys.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial diagnostic interviews and assessments for new clients.
• Create individualized treatment plans based on assessed needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing different therapy modalities.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure holistic client care.
• Conduct crisis intervention and support clients in acute distress.
• Regularly document client progress and treatment outcomes.
• Engage in continued education and training to develop clinical skills.
• Participate in staff meetings and share insights on client progress.
• Support client families by providing education and resources.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and referral processes.

Requirements

Education

• PhD in Clinical Psychology or related field
• Certification in family therapy or other therapeutic modalities is preferred.

Experience

• At least 2 years in a mental health clinic or hospital setting.

Technical Skills

• Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
• Crisis intervention techniques

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Proficient
