Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for innovation to join our Port Elizabeth office. Your main responsibilities will include system design, testing, and optimization, ensuring quality and efficiency in our engineering solutions. This role will involve significant collaboration across teams and the opportunity to lead engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Analyze technical data and prepare reports.
• Oversee the manufacturing process of mechanical parts.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control.
• Work with project managers to align on timelines and objectives.
• Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with engineering trends.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bids.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to optimize designs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in renewable energy systems: Knowledge of mechanical systems within renewable energy applications.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems: Experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
