Mining Engineer

Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will be pivotal in planning, designing, and managing mining operations while minimizing environmental impact and optimizing productivity.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new mining technologies for potential implementation.
• Supervise drilling and blasting operations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Communicate with senior management about project developments and changes.
• Set and monitor operational KPIs to gauge effectiveness and efficiency.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in daily activities.
• Compile data for regulatory reporting and compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Geology
• Advanced degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in a mining engineering role, with project management experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
• Health and Safety Management

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Problem Solving

Certifications

• Registered Mine Manager certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
