Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon at Animal Health Care SA, you will take the lead in diagnosing, treating, and managing various medical and surgical conditions in animals, while ensuring a compassionate approach to both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose medical conditions using clinical skills and diagnostic tools.
• Perform surgical and dental procedures to ensure animal health.
• Work closely with animal care staff to monitor post-operative patients.
• Engage in preventative health management and education.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility.
• Use advanced veterinary software for record-keeping.
• Stay informed about the latest veterinary research and practices.
• Develop relationships with local animal shelters and rescue organizations.
• Assist in outreach programs to promote animal welfare.
• Participate in after-hours emergency care when necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Recognised qualification in Veterinary Science
• Additional certifications in animal behaviour or specialised fields are beneficial

Experience

• 3+ years veterinary experience, with surgical experience preferred
