Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to oversee compliance with health and safety regulations in our Durban operations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of environmental management systems and a passion for promoting safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze workplace hazards and risks.
• Ensure safety equipment is maintained and compliant.
• Implement corrective actions based on safety audits.
• Prepare reports on safety incidents and trends.
• Engage with employees to promote safety awareness.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Keep up with best practices in health and safety management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Advanced Health and Safety certifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the environmental sector
