Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in civil engineering principles and a passion for innovative design. You will be responsible for developing, designing, and ensuring structural integrity for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from concept to completion.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and present project proposals and reports to stakeholders.
• Monitor construction processes and address any engineering issues.
• Research and incorporate new materials and technologies into designs.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in high-rise building projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Reinforced Concrete Design

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Leadership

Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on experience with construction management: Practical experience overseeing construction projects from an engineering perspective.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations: Knowledge of compliance with South African building standards.
