Job Description

We are looking for an Animal Technician to join our growing team. This position involves caring for animals in a veterinary setting, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and animals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in diagnosing and treating animal illnesses.
  • Administer medications and observe animal responses.
  • Support surgical procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform routine cleaning of the clinic and animal enclosures.
  • Coordinate with animal care staff to ensure wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care needs.
  • Handle surgical equipment and instruments safely.
  • Participate in community events to promote animal welfare.
  • Conduct health screenings and routine wellness checks.
  • Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor with all clients.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or Animal Health
  • Postgraduate qualifications in animal behaviour are a plus
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
