Corporate Lawyer in Durban

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our team in Durban. You will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on corporate governance, compliance matters, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local and international corporate law with excellent negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate agreements related to partnerships and joint ventures.
• Counsel clients on legal rights and obligations concerning corporate matters.
• Prepare legal documentation for corporate formations and governance.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to align legal strategies with business objectives.
• Support business units in compliance with corporate policies.
• Conduct training on legal issues for staff.
• Provide legal support for corporate transactions including financing.
• Maintain accurate records of legal documents and case files.

Requirements

Education

• LLB degree or equivalent qualification
• Further qualifications in Corporate Law or compliance are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years working in corporate and commercial law

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
