We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will utilize analytical skills to assess risks and determine policy terms. You will play a critical role in the underwriting process, collaborating with insurance agents and clients to provide tailored insurance solutions. A background in risk assessment and a keen eye for detail are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth risk assessments to determine applicants' eligibility for coverage.
• Collaborate with the risk management team to mitigate potential losses.
• Ensure timely responses on underwriting decisions to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of all underwriting activities and decisions.
• Prepare reports on underwriting performance and relevant metrics.
• Support training of junior underwriters in best practices and company policies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Insurance, or related field

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in insurance underwriting or related field

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
