Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. You will be responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care, diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, and performing surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to delivering the best care possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform wellness check-ups and health assessments.
• Conduct emergency treatment for injured animals.
• Manage medical inventory and assist in hospital upkeep.
• Support anesthesia and pain management protocols.
• Communicate effectively with staff and pet owners about treatment plans.
• Assist in training junior veterinary staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine

Experience

• Minimum 2 years in clinic setting

Technical Skills

• Anesthetic administration
• Patient care

Certifications

• National Veterinary Association membership
• CPR for Pets certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
