Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Orthotic Prosthetic Technician to design, fabricate, and fit braces and prosthetics for patients in need. The ideal candidate will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs through consultation and design customized orthopedic devices accordingly.
• Fabricate prosthetic devices using cutting-edge technology and various materials.
• Ensure devices are fitted correctly for optimal patient comfort and usability.
• Document patient interactions and device specifications with accuracy.
• Provide training to patients on how to properly use their devices.
• Work in tandem with interdisciplinary teams for enhanced patient outcomes.
• Keep abreast of advancements in orthotic and prosthetic technology.
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and uphold best practices in care delivery.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Orthotics and Prosthetics or equivalent qualification
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in orthotic and prosthetic device design, fabrication, and fitting.
